Systems of play (II)

In this second post we will continue analyzing the different types of systems of play which predominate in grassroots football.

1-4-2- System

It consists of: 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders and 2 midfielders.

Defenders are two full-backs, with offensive-defensive path. Those must withdraw and defend near the area, and they can also be transformed into two wing-backs in some plays so as to thus take advantage of their offensive potencial and their speed.

And two centre-backs, who act in the same way as in football 11, that is to say, they have a great sense of coverages and start the team’s game. Furthermore, they should have a good  shift of the ball, be strong in the air, as well as be forceful in punts.

Midfielders are two, one more defensive and other with more arrival to the rival area, playing both of them one next to the other.

It is a system which is often used specially against weak teams in defense or against much greater teams, in all aspects.

Advantages

·         Greater defensive strengh

·         Many possibilities of counterattack.

Disadvantages

·         As it is a system which makes you be very withdrawn, this makes that there ir much distance toward the rival goal.

·         It is required to have a great spirit of sacrifice both to defence and to attack.

·         There is little control of the game in midfield.

·         In some situations an overall imbalance can happen.

En este segundo post, seguiremos analizando los distintos tipos de sistemas de juego que predominan en el fútbol base.

Sistema 1-4-2

Compuesto por: 1 portero, 4 defensas y 2 mediocentros.

Los defensores son dos laterales, con recorrido ofensivo-defensivo, estos se deben replegar y defender cerca del área, se pueden transformar en dos extremos en algunas jugadas para aprovechar así su potencial ofensivo y su velocidad.

Y dos defensas centrales, que actúan de igual manera que en fútbol 11, es decir, tener un gran sentido de las coberturas e iniciando el juego del equipo, deben tener un buen desplazamiento de balón, ser fuertes en el juego aéreo y contundentes en los despejes.

Los centrocampistas son dos, uno más defensivo y el otro con más llegada al área rival, jugando ambos uno al lado del otro.

Es un sistema que se suele utilizar especialmente contra equipos débiles en defensa o ante rivales muy superiores en todos los aspectos.

Ventajas

·      Mayor solidez defensiva

·      Muchas posibilidades de salir al contraataque.

Inconvenientes

·         Al ser un sistema que te obliga a estar muy replegados, esto hace que exista mucha distancia hacia la portería rival.

·         Se precisa tener un gran espíritu de sacrificio tanto para defender como para atacar.

·         Existe poco dominio del juego en el centro del campo.

·         En algunas situaciones se puede producir un desequilibrio general.
