Systems of play (III)

We have previoulsy mention systems of play of two lines, and today we are going to explain the predominant systems of play of three lines, among which we can highlight:

1-3-1-2 System

It consists of: 1 goalkeeper, 3 defenders (right-back, left-back and centre-back), 1 midfielder and 2 forwards (right-forward and left-forward).

This system of play with origin of 1-3-3 favour the counterattack and lie its fundations over a good defensive line. A new line, occupied by a midfielder capable of generationg the offensive play appears. This player must be always well positioned and must stand out for being a good passer in short and in long, In addition, it is also important that he has arrival to the area and a good shot.

It should be noted that this system is one of the most ones used in grassroots football competitions.

Advantages

·         This system permits a more rational distribution of the area, thus allowing a better players’ staggering.

·         Reduction of the distances between the playing lines.

·         Improvement of the possibilities of the game in attack and defense.

Disadvantages

·         Excessive play in the middle if there are not full-backs with offensive path.

·         Too much field to occupy in center half.

·         Plenty of space to defend and attack by the full-backs.

Anteriormente hemos citado los sistemas de juego de dos líneas, y en el día de hoy vamos a explicar los sistemas de juego predominantes de tres líneas, entre los cuales podemos destacar:

Sistema 1-3-1-2

Compuesto por: 1 portero, 3 defensas (lateral derecho, lateral izquierdo y defensa central), 1 mediocentro y 2 delanteros (delantero derecho y delantero izquierdo).

Este sistema de juego, con origen del 1-3-3, privilegia el contraataque, asentado sus bases sobre una buena solidez defensiva. Aparece una nueva línea, ocupada por un mediocentro, con capacidad para generar el juego ofensivo, el cual debe estar siempre bien posicionado y destacar por ser un buen pasador en corto y en largo, importante también que tenga llegada al área y tenga un buen disparo.

Cabe destacar que este sistema es uno de los más utilizados en las competiciones de futbol base.

Ventajas

·         Este sistema permite una distribución más racional del espacio, permitiendo así mejor escalonamiento de los jugadores.

·         Reducción de las distancias entre las líneas de juego.

·         Mejora de las posibilidades del juego en ataque y defensa.

Inconvenientes

·         Excesivo juego por el centro, si no se dispone de laterales con recorrido ofensivo.

• Demasiado terreno a ocupar por el medio centro.
• Mucho espacio para defender y atacar por los laterales.
